AND element

The piston rod of a single-acting cylinder is to advance when the push button 1S1 and the push button 1S2 are actuated. If either of these are released, then the cylinder is to return to the initial position.

AND gate

The output 2 is true if input (12) AND input (14) are both true: 2 = (12) AND (14) An AND gate can have two or more inputs, its output is true if all inputs are true.
